BIOGRAPHY
Benjamin is a bassist originally from Boston MA.
He began studying music at age 3 starting with violin and eventually graduated to double bass at age 16.
Benjamin attended Berklee College of Music where he had many opportunities to perform with world renowned artists including John Oates, Kevin Mahogany, New York Voices, Kurt Elling, Becca Stevens, Mario Jose, and many others.
Benjamin is very diverse in his music. He plays in outfits ranging from straight ahead jazz to top 40 pop music. He enjoys the challenge of playing all styles of music.
Currently, Benjamin lives in New York City. He holds a busy performing schedule in and around the city. He can be often seen playing at places like The Jazz Gallery, Ornithology Jazz Club, Silvana, Shrine World Music Venue, Rockwood Music Hall, Pianos, Williamsburg Music Center, Two Saints, Radegast Bier Hall, and many others.
Benjamin's latest music ventures include being a member of the Billy Harper Quintet, performing around NYC and the greater North East. He's also a member of Dabin Ryu's groups performing with world class musicians like Jaleel Shaw, and Godwin Louis. His most recent release is Calle Happi Medium where you can hear his playing, but also his compositional voice. You can hear Ben on recent releases by Dabin Ryu, Andrew Denicola, and Shai Jaschek.
